The Fauves or “Wild Beasts” as they were known, were a group of early 20th Century artists famous for using expressive, bright and imaginary colors for their landscapes. These students borrowed ideas from the Fauves to create a painting. In addition to the Fauves, we talked about the importance of lighthouses in Michigan. Notice how each artist has added elements to their sky, water and land to make their painting unique.
